Communications: Postal and Courier Services

Postal Service

Postal service is very good. Expect no additional charge when sending airmail within Western Europe. Stamps are available for purchase at post offices, hotels, and slot machines. Although Deutsche Post is generally efficient and reliable, important or urgent deliveries should be sent with independent express couriers. Apart from the core postal services, post offices also provide banking services. Railway terminal post offices, found in all principal cities, are open weekdays until late evening. General delivery mail may be collected upon presentation of a valid identity card or passport.
